As the Nigerian Institute of Journalism comes
together to celebrate the 6th edition of their Students’ Week 2016,
the Provost of the institution, Mr. Gbemiga Ogunleye has praised the effort of
students as he expressed confidence in them during the Entrepreneurship
Exhibition.
Mr. Gbemiga said that he sees successful business
tycoons like business magnate Aliko Dangote in his students during a speech he
made to open the one week event.
The exhibition which kick started the week long
students’ celebration tagged: ‘The MIC and The Pen’ had in attendance students
from different levels of academics with mind blowing creations in pursuit of
getting good grades from their Entrepreneurship lecturer, Mrs. Bisi Bamishe.
Mrs. Bisi who made the exhibition mandatory was also
present to record every group’s delivery which she commented was very
impressive. She also made a call of improvement by the new students who will
resume fully in 2017.
In an interview with the Students Representative
Council (SRC) Chairman, Adefolarin Badejo during the tour with the Provost and
other supervisory bodies, he said ‘If our students can be this creative, then
Nigerians should no longer be expected to always export from other countries’.
He also said that the Nigerian economy can only be
in recession if it fails to encourage her own strength.
Meanwhile, students who displayed different exhibits
also made gains from sales encouraged by numerous students who came to
celebrate the concert which came immediately after the exhibition.
